sheee-it! just wasted 8 euros on nothing. well, ok, 1 hour of a rockabilly band we can see for free on the weekend. the band we really wanted to see--and dance to--wasn't set to go on until midnite, by which time i needed to be well in bed for work tomorrow. there was some speed-metal psychobilly band on in the meantime, and no room left to dance.

on top of that, i stink of other people's smoke. at least i brought earplugs, so i didn't waste what's left of my sense of hearing for no reason as well.

true, i did get to see some cute rockabilly girls with tattoos and all, but it's little consolation. i'd prefer my 8 euros.

last saturday we (renita--dancing friend/getting lost in between nowhere towns friend--and i) went to a cafe that advertized a "blues and jazz inspired duo" of live music. turned out to be two guys on guitars singing '70s covers of bad songs that don't need to be sung by two guys on guitars in a cafe.

damn these dodgy nights out. this town needs a regular, good jazz venue. and a smoke-free pub or three.
