i am tired...went to bed at midnight, woke slept about an hour--just enough, when combined with jet lag and sleeping in late because i've been sick--to leave me wide awake when i woke up at one because i had some strange but unmemorable dream.

well, holidays were great. saw family members and old friends who i hadn't seen in many years, and even was pleasantly suprised to be reunited with a friend i hadn't seen in many years and had all but given up hope of ever seeing again; in a way she and i have been leading parallel lives the last few years: we both went thru a major career change, suffered a repetitive stress injury which required another change, and both have a passion for food and cooking. Sadly, i had to leave less than a week later, which is just my typical awful timing.

At any rate I am now considering returning to the usa, perhaps relatively soon and definitely before another 2.5 years go by.

new item for me to covet: the ipod. very small, loads of space, and perfect for need-to-travel-light me. could even use it in various ways for tefl. i blame cianna for this; her gadget-mania has rubbed off on me in just one trip to compusa.
